This Year’s ‘Pupil Council’ at Phoenix Integrated Primary school has been hard on task already. After having being voted onto the team by their peers and classmates, the newly formed grouped set to work on coming up with their first fundraising event of the year, raising money for the refugee crisis in Syria. The team, made up of a mix of Year 4 to Year 7 pupils, came up with the idea to run a ‘Non-uniform’ day in school on Friday 9th October 2015. Participating pupils brought in £1 each in an attempt to raise money for such a worthy and current world issue. The day turned out to be a great success with the school raising £185.00. The council team now look forward to overseeing the running of future events and decision processes both for the school and wider community.
